Quick Answer: Tap "Save" on any venue preview or venue card, then choose from rec'd, Want to Go, Liked, or Not a Fan. Your save appears on your map and profile instantly.
Overview
Saving places is how you build your personal food map on rec'd. Every time you save somewhere, you categorise it based on your experience.
How to save from the map
Tap a pin on the map, then tap the "Save" button on the venue preview. A menu appears with four options: rec'd (your strongest endorsement), Want to Go (on your radar), Liked (enjoyed it, not a top pick), and Not a Fan (wasn't for you). Tap your choice and the pin updates instantly.
How to save from a venue card
On a full venue card, tap the "Save" button below the description to open the same four-option menu. Once saved, the button shows your current status with a "Change" option.
Changing your save status
Tap "Change" next to your current status to reopen the menu and pick a different category.
Saving a place from your network
When you see a venue saved by people you follow (profile picture pin), tapping "Save" adds your own independent save alongside theirs. Your status is completely separate from how they categorised it.
What happens when you save
- The venue appears as a coloured pin on your map
- It shows up on your profile under the matching category
- It contributes to the venue's save breakdown (visible to other users)
- It helps rec'd learn your taste for better recommendations
