rec'd 1.2.4 brings a redesigned settings page and a completely reworked map filtering experience with a brand new cuisine filter.
⚙️ Redesigned Settings
We've rebuilt the profile settings page from the ground up to make everything clearer and easier to find.
Settings are now organised into clean sections:
- Profile: Username, Bio, and City
- Social: Email, Instagram, and TikTok
- Permissions: Notifications and Location, each with a status badge showing whether they're on or off
- General: Invite Friends, Help, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, Sign Out, and Delete Account
Everything is now a tappable row with clear labels and current values shown on the right, so you can see your settings at a glance without opening each one.
🗺️ New Map Filtering
The map bottom bar has been completely redesigned with three floating pill tabs that make it much faster to find exactly the kind of place you're looking for.
You can now filter your map by:
- Save status: Show only your rec'd places, Liked spots, Want to Go list, or Not a Fan venues
- People: Filter by specific friends and/or creators in your network to see where they've been
- Cuisine: A brand new filter that lets you narrow the map down by cuisine type, so if you're in the mood for Italian, Indian, or anything else, you can see only those venues
These filters work together, so you can combine them to get really specific: for example, show only Japanese restaurants that Autumn has rec'd, or see all the pizza spots your friends want to try.
The active filter state is always visible in the floating pills at the bottom, so you know exactly what you're looking at.
🔧 Bug Fixes & Improvements
Overlapping venue pins: When multiple venues are stacked on the same spot, you can now swipe left and right through the preview cards after tapping the pin. No more hidden places.
Social import videos: Improvements to the reliability and speed of video imports from TikTok and Instagram.
Full save visibility: You can now see everyone who has saved a venue on the venue card, not just people in your network. This makes it much easier to discover popular spots.
Scrollable followers and following: Follower and following lists on profiles are now fully scrollable. Previously these were capped and cut off.
List description character limit: Added a character limit to list descriptions to prevent text from being truncated in the UI.
Neighbourhood labels on the map: The map now shows neighbourhood names (e.g. London Fields, Shoreditch, Dalston) to help you orient yourself as you explore.
List scroll fix: The bottom venue on lists is now fully viewable and actionable for saving. Previously the last item was partially cut off by the UI.
Thanks for using rec'd. Keep the feedback coming — it shapes everything we build.
